Talk-show tango Dec. 14-18: Promo parade for Avatar, Sherlock Holmes, Nine

In television on 12/13/2009 at 3:56 pm

That clatter you hear is the Christmas-season-movie hype machine labouring under the weight of James Cameron’s sci-fi blockbuster Avatar, the Robert Downey Jr.-Jude Law blockbuster Sherlock Holmes, the musical blockbuster Nine and a couple that are not blockbusters like the Sarah Jessica Parker-Hugh Grant rom-com Did You Hear About the Morgans? and the murder-ghost story The Lovely Bones. You need to take at least one of the next three holiday weeks off to absorb in all this entertainment. If your boss needs convincing, here’s a couple of trailers, for Avatar (which opens in Montreal Thursday at midnight) and Sherlock Holmes (which opens Christmas Day, even on the moon).
