Artie Lange predicts Conan O’Brien’s future: rewinding to November 2008

First of all, thanks to “anderzole”, who put this up on digg.com, and to the 270 diggers who voted it to the top of the pile. I tip my hat as I steal their work and put it here.

Under the title “Artie Lange predicts Conan O’Brien’s future”, this YouTube video shows Lange on O’Brien’s east-coast Late Night show, before O’Brien left to start up his stint on the Tonight Show. It’s pretty scarily, hilariously prescient.

And speaking of O’Brien’s Tonight Show, even cbc.ca is getting in on the O’Brien-Leno-NBC reportage. Talks have bogged down over payouts to O’Brien’s exiting staff. The guests on Jan. 22 — expected to be O’Brien’s last Tonight Show — will be Tom Hanks and Will Ferrell, who, close watchers of late night will recall, was O’Brien’s first Tonight Show guest. The circle is intact.
