TV Dinner Time: Lost Cocktail Hour for Feb. 2 season opener

In television on 02/01/2010 at 11:03 pm

Feeling a little teary — or even a little panicky — at the thought of Lost wrapping up in just 18 short hours, starting at 9 p.m. ET Tuesday on CTV and ABC?

Drown those sad anxious feelings, and by drown I don’t mean Charlie in the Looking Glass station with only a Sharpie between him and God and Desmond.

I mean cocktails people. And Twitter is hopping with suggestions for what to drink during Lost Cocktail Hour (or, if you speak Twitter, that’s #LostCocktails).

Some are larks on key plot points or characters or locations, but others are actual cocktails. No need to measure. Just pour, drink, repeat. Maybe knock one back every time Ben Linus’s eyes go wide in horror. Or every time Sawyer tosses off a new nickname. Here are some of the Twitter Lost Cocktail Hour suggestions, starting with mine:

@tweetinthebox Black Rock: Dark rum, ginger beer, sea salt-rimmed glass in middle of the table – you have no idea how it got there, or…

@FailedProtostar The Black Rock: Chocolate tequila, Kahlua, club soda

@jmittell The Numbers: 4 parts tequila 8 parts gin 15 parts rum 16 parts vodka 23 drops of vermouth 42 people to drink it.

@poniewozik And after you serve a round of Hatches, you can say “down The Hatch!”

@DianePatterson The Flash Forward: no idea of the ingredients, but you wake up in the morning and it’s 3 years later.

@FailedProtostar Tabula Rasa: You won’t remember the night before…Tequila, Grand Marnier, champagne, lime juice, lemon juice, orange juice

@tomontv The Nikki & Paolo: your bartender claims you’ve been drinking it for years, but you’re not sure

Going a little further back — Jan. 22, 2009 — somebody at lostpedia who goes by ZachsMind has a series of cocktail suggestions tied to key characters. Such as:

“Kate on the Rocks might be a mixed drink consisting of whiskey on ice with a dash of sweet & sour. I’d garnish it with something that might represent freckles, like nutmeg or cinnamon, but some might think that over the top.”

Now then, what’ll you be drinking during the two-hour season opener, starting at 9 p.m. ET on CTV and ABC?
