Talk-show tango May 3-7: Jay Leno says thank god the weekend’s over

In television on 05/02/2010 at 11:58 pm

It was a pretty tough weekend for Jay Leno, the returned king of the Tonight Show. Not only did Conan O’Brien put the boots to him on 60 Minutes (here is a very good all-round catchup of the whole O’Brien-Leno-NBC scuffle, with old video links as well as an excerpt from O’Brien’s 60 Minutes interview), but U.S. president Barack Obama also took a few shots at Leno at the annual White House Correspondents Dinner, held in D.C. Saturday night.

It’s almost enough to make me feel compassion for Leno… Nah. So, as Leno must be asking, can we get to the business of this week’s talk-show guest list?
