Burn Notice makes its Canadian debut on Showcase at 10 p.m.

Wednesday, Sept. 8

America’s Next Top Model returns to A Channel at 8 p.m. ET

Selling New York debuts on HGTV at 9 p.m. ET

Hellcats, a new CW youth drama (football, cheerleading, melodrama!), debuts in Canada on A Channel  at 9 p.m ET (CTV’s second banana channel, available on Bell and Shaw satellite, but not on Videotron) and on upper-tier cable channels WGN, WPIX and KTLA but repeats on the much more widely available MuchMusic Fridays at 8 p.m. ET starting Sept. 10

Mayday returns to Discovery Channel at 10 p.m. ET

Thursday, Sept. 9

The Vampire Diaries, another CW show, returns in Canada on A Channel at 8 p.m. ET  and on upper-tier cable channels WGN, WPIX and KTLA but repeats on MuchMusic Fridays at 9 p.m. ET

Nikita, another adaptation of the spy film La Femme Nikita, this time from CW, debuts on A Channel  at 9 p.m. ET (repeating Sept. 11 on upper-tier cable channels WGN, WPIX and KTLA, also repeats on Space on Sundays at 8 p.m. ET

Friday, Sept. 10

Life Unexpected, a sleeper hit on CW last season about a teen who seeks out her birth parents, makes its basic cable debut in Canada on YTV at 10 p.m. ET (Looking for Season 2’s debut? Check Sept. 14)

The three-part miniseries Sherlock debuts on Showcase at 10 p.m. ET

Comedy Now! returns to the Comedy Network at 10 p.m. ET

Comedy Inc. returns to the Comedy Network at 10:30 p.m. ET

Saturday, Sept. 11

Cash Cab returns to Discovery Channel at 7 p.m. ET

Merlin returns to Space at 8 p.m. ET

Star Portraits returns on Bravo! at 8 p.m. ET with a profile of David Suzuki

Great Canadian Books premieres on Bravo! at 8:30 p.m. ET with Mary Walsh reviewing Michael Crummey’s Hard Light

Sunday, Sept. 12

Gossip Girl returns on MuchMusic at 11 p.m. ET, repeating Sept. 13 at 8 p.m. ET (and repeats Mondays on upper-tier cable stations WGN, WPIX and KTLA)

Lost Girl debuts on Showcase at 9 p.m. ET

Monday, Sept. 13

Oprah returns to CTV and NBC for its 25th and final season at 4 p.m.

WWII in HD debuts on History Television at 9 p.m.

90210 returns on upper-tier cable stations  WGN and WPIX at 8 p.m. ET and KTLA at 11 p.m. ET but repeats Fridays on Global at 8 p.m. ET starting Sept. 17

Tuesday Sept. 14

Parenthood returns on NBC and Citytv at 10 p.m. ET

One Tree Hill returns to upper-tier cable stations WGN and WPIX at 8 p.m. ET and KTLA at 11 p.m. ET and repeats on the more widely available MuchMusic Wednesdays at 9 p.m. ET

Life Unexpected makes its second season return on upper-tier cable stations WGN and WPIX at 9 p.m. ET and KTLA at midnight

Wednesday, Sept. 15

Survivor: Nicaragua comes to Global and CBS at 8 p.m. ET

Tripping the Rift, an animated comedy, debuts on Space at 9:30 p.m. ET

Outlaw debuts on NBC at 10 p.m. ET, repeating at the same time on Sept. 17 and then starting its season run on Oct. 15 (this is my best guess: I found all three dates on the NBC show site and press site. Your guess is as good as mine right now)

Thursday, Sept. 16

The Apprentice returns on Global and NBC at 9 p.m. ET

Being Human, the new vampire series, repeats its first season starting this night on Space, at 10 p.m. ET

 

Friday, Sept. 17

Real Time with Bill Maher returns to HBO Canada at 10 p.m. ET

Extreme Peril debuts on Discovery Channel at 10 p.m. ET
