I'm watching. You're watching. Let's talk.

Talk-show tango Jan. 24-28: Well hello Oscar! Get in here so I can start complaining!

In television on 01/23/2011 at 4:41 pm

Pointless, really, to still get excited about the Academy Awards. They’re little better than the WTH Golden Globes these last few years, but I can’t help it. The little kid in me, I guess. The magic of movies and all that. Ridiculous. And yet… So Tuesday Jan. 25 at 8:30 a.m. ET / 5:30 a.m. PT,  the American Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announces the nominations for the 2011 Oscars, to be handed out in the usual lavish (or garish, depending on your mood and their dress choices) affair on Feb. 27, broadcast live on CTV and ABC. Good bet that (at the very least) ABC will cover the nomination announcement live on Good Morning America, but for my money, the fun will start when the ladies on The View begin picking apart this year’s list of nominees later Tuesday. Me? I continue to be both simultaneously (and unsurprisingly) sick and on vacation. I will be on the lam Tuesday, but will be checking Twitter like the pathetic sort I am and muttering to strangers on the streets of NYC about the usual injustices. And loving every minute of it.
