Ashton Kutcher to replace Charlie Sheen on Two and a Half Men, but how exactly?

In television on 05/12/2011 at 11:07 pm

My Gazette colleagues have just posted a story sourcing the Huffington Post that Ashton Kutcher will replace Charlie Sheen on the highly rated CBS sitcom Two and a Half Men.

Floppy-haired Brit Hugh Grant was the buzz name on Wednesday but Michael Ausiello, who is also claiming to have broken the story TWO MONTHS AGO says he has network confirmation.

What’s the word from @aplusk aka the lanky star of That 70s Show himself?

But the big question is how the heck is this going to work? Will Jon Cryer wake up and shake the crazy dream out of his head as a taller, more social-media-savvy Charlie strides into his room fresh from the shower?

Or will he be the cousin from Toledo who moves in while Charlie’s out of town? Or the long lost half brother? Or the twin son from another mother? Or or or …

The Hollywood Reporter is no fun at all, actually getting a comment, though from only the usual “source”:

“Now sources say Men creator Chuck Lorre has crafted a storyline to introduce Kutcher in a way that satisfies the network and studio. ‘It’s really funny,’ says one source. ‘People are going to love it.’ “

One thing’s for certain: Though I haven’t seen or heard one yet, I am already bored to death of Charlie Sheen’s protests.
