Thursday June 10

Starstruck (series premiere Crave) “From comedian Rose Matafeo (Baby DoneHorndog), … the romantic comedy follows Jessie (Matafeo), a millennial living in East London, juggling two dead-end jobs, and navigating the awkward morning-after-the-night-before when she discovers the complications of accidentally sleeping with famous movie star Tom (Nikesh Patel). What she thought would become an amusing anecdote soon turns into something more, as the couple realize they can’t keep away from each other. The ensemble cast also includes Sindhu Vee, Emma Sidi, and Minnie Driver (Good Will Hunting). The series is co-written by Matafeo and Alice Snedden.”

Moloch (Sundance Now) “In a labyrinthine industrial seaside town in the north of France, random people spontaneously combust for no reason. Suicide? Murder? Supernatural phenomenon? … To investigate this mystery, Louise (Marine Vacth, Jeune et Jolie), an ambitious and troubled young journalist, joins forces with Gabriel (Olivier Gourmet, Le Fils), a respected psychiatrist who carries the grief of his son’s death. Soon, six fiery letters start to turn up as graffiti on the city walls like a signature adjacent to the deaths: “MOLOCH,” the ancient god of sacrifice. Louise and Gabriel must embark on a terrifying journey to the heart of their own personal hell, in order to get to the truth – at the risk of getting burned themselves.”

Friday June 11

Set in the last chapter of 2020, the season captures the late summer and early fall COVID-19 months in New York City, where masks and outside activities are the norm. ”

Lupin (Season 2 premieres on Netflix) If you haven’t already watched the first five-episode season of this French series, you should probably do a few yoga stretches first so you don’t suffer a serious injury kicking yourself later.
